Future Legacy Camp 2025
Summer Camp 2025 was a huge success! We initially had 32 kids signed up to attend, and 26 were actually able to participate in camp.
This was my (Aaron’s) first year back at camp after serving as a missionary for the last three years. It was truly a joy to be back in the hustle and bustle of foster kids camp. The energy when the kids first arrive at camp is indescribable. Both the kids and the guides are nervous because there are so many unknowns. Yet, the guides go out of their way to get to know the kids and help them come out of their shells.
By the evening, the kids are wild and living their best lives, enjoying s’mores and making memories. The week is packed with swimming, feeding horses, fishing, archery, rock climbing, crafts, and zip-lining.
Chapel takes place twice a day, with a strong emphasis on the message, “Jesus loves you.” Our chaplain does a wonderful job of depicting who our Father is and how deeply He cares for us. Our desire is for seeds to be planted and lives to be changed.
Thanks to the campground staff, the kids are also fed delicious food, with a fruit and salad bar available at every meal. Our goal is to give these kids an opportunity to experience summer camp in an environment where a traditional camp might feel a bit overwhelming.
A special thanks to the campground staff and all of the volunteers from FLP who made this year’s camp happen. We are so grateful for everyone who helped make this week possible!
